In order to carry forward the spirit of scientists loving science and stimulate students' interest in learning science, the physics preparation group of Grade 8 in the west campus of Anqing Foreign Language School held the activity ‘Approaching the Scientist’ on the afternoon of 14th December, 2020 in the Lecture Hall on the first floor. At the beginning of the preparation, students from all classes of Grade 8 enthusiastically signed up for the activity. After careful selection by teachers of each class, elite players from each class were selected to participate in the final grade group show. After the start of the activity, the contestants took turns to show their great scientists in their mind by drawing lots, such as Galileo, Newton, Einstein, Schrodinger and Qian Xuesen... scientists at home and abroad. The performance of the contestants was really wonderful, and the audience also sent thunderous applause from time to time! Meanwhile, the judges judged each contestant in a fair and just manner. Thus, this activity made the students on the spot gain a lot in that they felt the learning spirit and scientific research quality of many unknown scientists, and also let the teachers see another side of their students' excellence. Let us give them thumbs up for the meticulous preparation of the contestants and for the teachers' cultivation for the students as well!
